Easy Money for Your Emergency Needs

Medical emergencies often strike suddenly and without warning. In a perfect world, we would have an overflowing savings account to combat life’s emergencies. Of course, in a perfect world, emergencies would never happen in the first place.

Emergencies aren’t just insanely stressful: they’re also incredibly costly. Worse still, you often don’t have time to wait around for another paycheck or a bank loan. You need money, and you need it now. Luckily for those suffering through medical emergencies, there are emergency sources of cash that can arrive in as little as 24 hours.

Online Personal Loans

Online personal loans have two benefits in an emergency: they’re simple to process, and they’re incredibly fast. For example, here’s how the process works for online personal loans from greatplainslending.com:

  1. Apply online for a loan from $200 to $1000.
Fill out the online application. You must prove that you’re over 18, have access to a working email account, got a secure form of income (employment, etc.), and have a working checking account with limited penalties (no bounced checks, no overdraft charges, a positive balance, etc.).
  2. Find out if you’ve been approved. An employee should be able to let you know whether you’ve been approved for online personal loans in a matter of minutes.
  3. See the money in your account on the next business day. If you fill out your application by6:00 p.m. EST, you should see money in your account on the following business day.

What You Should and Shouldn’t Use an Online Personal Loan For

Online personal loans should not be used for non-necessities. Don’t get a personal loan to finance that latest gadget you’ve been eyeing or to buy a cute pair of shoes. Personal loans are for emergency situations: when you need money immediately to take care of a current crisis.

Examples include: medical emergencies, car repairs or breakdowns, severe housing problems (flooding, etc.), and family emergencies. Personal loans are also a good option for applicants with low or zero credit. In fact, if you’ve got a less-than-stellar credit rating, online personal loans may be the only loan you qualify for.

  1. Scary enough to have an emergency but worse when you need money too. Fortunately I have not had to take a loan to cover one yet.

I need to take loan. I don’t want to take loan but… I just have to :(

  3. Whoa, yes, I once had pneumonia, had an anaphylactic reaction to the medication, and wound up in the emergency room via ambulance. I had thousands of dollars in medical bills, and no money to pay.

I survived first because I was honest with the clinic about the situation and my financial situation, the ambulance, and the hospital, and asked if we could work out a plan.

I have to say that for all the talk about the heartlessness of the healthcare industry, I found that the clinic and the hospital were wonderful–the hospital wrote off the ER bill completely (though I had to pay the doctor), and the clinic took every avenue to reduce my bill to something I could cover. The ambulance company insisted I pay full pop, which hurt, but I simply paid on it as I could, and it was dealt with within a year (originally my bills exceeded $4,000 for the clinic visit, the ambulance ride to the hospital, and the ER room time).

My sister, who at the time worked in billing for a hospital, told me that hospitals have a certain amount of money that they designate for cases such as mine, where care is vital for life, and the money’s simply not there. If you let them know, they are often willing to work with you.

    • Thanks for this helpful info. I never knew that hospitals had a budget for cases like yours.
Anyway, what happened to you was pretty scary. Take care!

  12. Jane Newman says:

Unfortunately, unsecured personal finance and in particular, small same day type loans have received a pretty bad press recently, in particular for the poor credit market. What many people do not understand is that even reputable lenders have to take a risk when lending on a non secured.

When an applicant applies for an unsecured personal loan, the company lending will look at the personal credit application and offer money based on what the applicant can afford to repay in the way of loan repayments.

The monthly repayments may well be at a higher rate that for people who have a good credit rating and who are not blacklisted with the various credit companies.

The main thing is to locate is a ethical lending company who has a wealth of experience in the lending industry and who lends finance even to people who have defaults without the high interest rates usually associated with unsecured borrowing.
