My New BFF: Bingo!

Louis Pasteur made a remarkable breakthrough when he came up with the first vaccines.  In almost the same light, I have made an essential discovery which has since changed my life forever: online bingo.

Flashback to the eighties, when I was an impressionable 13-year old with crooked teeth and teased hair, I had my first encounter with bingo- the offline kind.  I can still vividly remember how I’d rush through dinner, looking forward to our nightly bingo game as a family.

In the beginning, I was slightly intimidated by those numbered cards, but it wasn’t long before I got the hang of the game.  I soon realized that playing bingo was a no-brainer.  It was fun, and had the entire family in stitches.

Fast forward to today when you can get almost anything and everything online, I have developed an undeniable fascination with online bingo.  A couple of years ago, I got hooked on playing poker online.  Then, when I stumbled upon one of those bingo sites, I turned my back on Facebook, and decided to take the road less traveled and switch to online bingo.

When I want to keep myself entertained without having to torture myself with mundane TV shows (Oh, I miss Friends and Ally McBeal!), I simply play online bingo.

What’s nice about it is that it has become just as much of a bonding moment now as it was then.  My mom who now lives overseas scours the web for only the best bingo sites and plays along with me.  I also have an old friend who now lives in Bahrain, and we both play online bingo together whenever we both find ourselves home alone.   Online bingo has spanned oceans and time zones, and has reinforced the ties that bind.

I guess what this all boils down to is how a seemingly unimportant online game can positively change someone’s life.

Now I know what to name my pet dog… B-I-N-G-O!
