TAFKAP: The Artist Formerly Known As Pepper

Betcha by golly wow, I am not a perfect person!  There are close to a thousand and one things I’d like to change about myself.  Sure, we always say, “We’re only human!” but is there anything wrong with striving for perfection- or at least, self-improvement?  We may never be flawless but we can always snip away at our nasty habits and unappealing traits.  As for me, here are some things I’d like to work on when it comes to my personality overhaul:

Temper.    My pot boileth over when things don’t go as planned.  I seethe with anger when my daughter tries to battle it out with me during a habitual power struggle.  Curse words come out of my mouth when some driver with an IQ of 50 tries to cut me off at the intersection.  Little things set me off like a dynamite.

Needless worry.  The operative word here is “needless”.   I read somewhere that “Worrying is like sitting in a rocking chair.  It gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere.”  That’s one lesson I’d like to drill into my thick skull.  Ever since I can remember, I’ve always been an advocate of worry, and it hasn’t done me any good- healthwise.  I often find myself losing sleep because of worrying over the smallest of things.

If I am known to possess those traits, I would like to do away with them.  It will take tremendous willpower to change one’s personality, but I will do it.   Like a boxer trying to knock his opponent down by round 5, I will damn well do it.

How about you?  Is there anything about yourself which you know you can possibly change- or improve?

  1. Oh, I have an endless list of things to improve upon!

  2. I get really frustrated also if things don’t go as planned. I also would like to change that I am claustrophobic!

  3. If I could change one thing, I’d rewire my brain so that it stops flitting from one thing to the next. I’m not efficient because I hop, hop, hop instead of focusing!

  4. What bothers me so much is “needless worrying” I know that’s trivial, but yet I still indulge myself on worrying it. I should have get rid of this kind of attitude or tendency!

  5. Veronica says

To strive for self improvement is a great thing. I’m always trying to stress less. I envision in my mind the way things should be and when they don’t I stress to much and worry the moment.

  6. If I were an animal, I’d be a sloth. And that definitely needs a lot of improvement. :D

  7. Oh, temper, temper, temper. I need to seriously work on that myself.

  8. Worrying does nothing for me except stress me out and then make me break out in hives. It’s bad. So I’ve learned to stop worrying and look to God for things to turn out nicely.

  9. oh goodness yes. i tend to bottle things up instead of expressing myself.

  10. I am such a worry wart too. It keeps me up at night as well. My Mom and my sister worry too, so it must be genetic, and I’m not sure how to change that?

  11. Being my moody and too frank hehe!

  12. I want to worry less and trust God more, worrying has never made anything better for me, but I have seen great results when I trust God. We all have short comings, but we all can do something about them.

  13. Oh I could write out a whole list I would like to change about myself!

  14. Hmmm, I can be quite a moody person and I have a hot temper when I’m tired. I’m sure lots of people around me would like that changed ha ha. Good luck with your plan

  15. Great plans..Guess if I’m to write mine it will take forever..lol
    Thanks for stopping by..

I love the analogy of worrying. I am one of those types of people that just continually worry about anything or nothing. It is stressful and exhausting. i got to somehow figure out how to calm my brain down and not worry so much because it does nothing but harm for me.

  17. Temper is one thing I am learning and still learning to take under control always. Happy to say, I am being a good student. Have had a lot of practice with the people I supervise at work lol!
